Admission
Due to security concerns, Baxter Hall will be locked and the audience will be admitted only through the doors on the South side of the building by the lily ponds. If, for medical reasons, you cannot climb the stairs to the hall on the 2nd floor, someone at the main entrance (located in the middle of the West side of the building) will escort you to the elevator. Get directions to the Caltech Campus, Baxter Hall and Beckman Auditorium.
Unless otherwise noted, lectures take place on Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm, in Baxter Lecture Hall, Caltech, Pasadena, California. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis at the door. Your admission fee is a donation that pays for our lecture expenses. Prices are as follows:
- Caltech faculty, staff and JPL community : $10
- Skeptics Society members : $10
- General Public : $15
For lectures that take place in Beckman Auditorium, tickets are $15 for Skeptics Society members/Caltech/JPL community; $20 for everyone else. Tickets may be purchased in advance through the Caltech ticket office in 101 Winnett (MAP), or at the door, or by calling at 626-395-4652 between 9am and 4pm Monday through Friday. (Do not leave a message.) Ordering tickets ahead of time is strongly recommended.
Service Charge on Phone/Fax Ticket Orders
For all tickets purchased by phone or fax for Beckman Auditorium lectures, Caltech will add an $8 service charge per ticket order (no matter how many tickets are ordered). No service charge will be added to tickets purchased at the door on the day of the event or purchased in person at the Caltech ticket office in advance.
For your Comfort and Security
All halls are wheelchair accessible. There is plenty of space in the front of the room in both Baxter Hall and Beckman Auditorium for wheelchairs. Our map of the Caltech campus includes handicapped parking areas and ramp routes to all halls. If we have an event that includes a long ticket or lunch line and you have difficulty standing, notify our staff and we will be happy to find you a place to sit or escort you to the front of the line.
Outside solicitors sometimes try to take advantage of our events by handing out literature or proselytizing. If someone is aggressive or annoying during one of our events for any reason, please let us know. We trust that attendees will help us to ensure that our events are always safe and welcoming for people of all races, ethnicities, abilities, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We reserve the right to ask people behaving inappropriately to leave without refund.
For events in Beckman Auditorium only: if you are hard of hearing, assistive listening devices are available from the Beckman staff.
